Giordano Libero 1.6 Youth Road Bike — A Real Road Bike, Sized for a Young Rider
Most kids' bikes are heavy, clunky, and built down to a price. The Giordano Libero 1.6 is the opposite: a genuine drop-bar road bike scaled down to 24-inch wheels and a 13-inch frame, so a young rider gets the same geometry, gearing, and feel that an adult road bike delivers. If your kid has outgrown the department-store bike and wants to ride with you instead of behind you, this is the jump.
The handcrafted 6061 aluminum frame keeps the weight low — which matters enormously when the rider weighs 70 pounds — and the rigid red fork adds a sharp contrast against the white paint. A 16-speed Shimano Claris drivetrain gives real range for climbing and cruising, shifted through proper road-bike levers so they learn the skills that carry straight over to a full-size bike. Tektro side-pull caliper brakes deliver confident, predictable stopping.
Rolling on high-profile Vitesse 24 alloy wheels with smooth quick-release hubs and clincher tires with plenty of tread left, this bike is ready to ride now — for weekend group rides, junior triathlons, or simply keeping pace on family outings.
Why It's a Smart Buy
- Real road geometry: drop bars and road shifters teach proper technique from the start, not habits that need unlearning later.
- Light aluminum frame: a young rider can actually handle it, lift it, and accelerate on it.
- 16-speed Shimano Claris: a proven, serviceable groupset — not proprietary parts that are impossible to replace.
- Quick-release alloy wheels: easier roadside repairs and a genuinely faster ride.
- Buy pre-owned, save real money: kids outgrow bikes fast. Spending less on the stepping stone makes sense.

Sizing
A 24" wheel with a 13" frame typically suits riders around 4'2" to 4'11", roughly ages 8 to 12 depending on the child. If you are between sizes or unsure, message us with your rider's height and inseam and we will tell you honestly whether this is the right fit.
Condition Notes
This bike is in pre-owned, good working condition with minor cosmetic wear from normal use. The handcrafted 6061 aluminum frame and rigid red fork are structurally sound with no cracks, dents, or frame damage. You will find typical light surface scuffs and cable rub around the frame, particularly near the front head tube area.
The 16-speed Shimano Claris drivetrain shifts smoothly across gears, and the Tektro caliper brakes provide strong, reliable stopping power. The high-profile Vitesse 24 alloy wheels spin straight and feature smooth quick-release hubs, with tires that retain plenty of usable tread.
One thing to know up front: the white perforated road saddle is completely functional but shows noticeable surface wear and flaking along the upper side seams. It is fine as-is, and an inexpensive swap if you would rather it look new.
